Hostage US seminars
Hostage US runs a regular series of seminars at locations across the US to help organizations understand the needs of families during a kidnapping and how best to support them through the event. See our education program video.
Participants hear from former hostages and their families, senior representatives from organizations that have handled a staff kidnapping, representatives from the government, media advisers, and leading psychologists and psychiatrists on how to deal with the impacts of trauma.
Recent speakers include former hostages Terry Anderson, Jessica Buchanan and David Rohde, Diane Foley will address our forthcoming seminar in Chicago, David McCraw of the New York Times outlined his newspaper’s approach to handling hostage cases, and a representative from Statoil presented lessons learned from the In Amenas incident in Algeria in 2013.
We get consistently positive feedback about our seminars. 98% of attendees rate our seminars as excellent or very good and 86% said it was extremely or very likely that they would recommend a Hostage US seminar to a friend or colleague.
We are pleased to offer discounts to members of ISMA, INSSA and the ASIS International CSO Roundtable. We also routinely offer special offers for non-profits.
