Hostage US 2023 Annual Reception
May 1, 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The Hostage US 2023 Annual Reception is on the evening of May 1, graciously hosted by Airlines for America on their outdoor rooftop terrace overlooking downtown DC. Hostage US has chosen to focus this year’s annual reception around community – those that work on the issue, those who have been impacted by the issue, and those who support the issue. We look forward to gathering with our guests to discuss how we can continue to build this strong community around this issue.
The event will feature a short speaking program along with drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and engaging conversation.
5:30 PM – Annual Reception Begins & Silent Auction Opens
6:30 PM – Speaking Program (duration: 25 minutes)
7:30 PM – Silent Auction Ends
8:00 PM – End

More About the Annual Reception & Hostage US
We look forward to gathering the community of leaders from the private and public sectors, including security, HR, legal professionals, former and current government officials, former captives, and their families. Our community is a strong network of organizations, individuals, and the government who care deeply about this issue.
The Hostage US mission is to provide practical, emotional, and professional support to families for the duration of a hostage and wrongful detention case, and to help former captives rebuild their lives once they are home. While Hostage US does not provide response efforts or advocacy to resolve cases, we fill a gap in services that help families deal with the unimaginable emotional, physical, financial, legal, and practical challenges that they face because of this crime.
Hostages, wrongful detainees, and their families also need assistance with responding to the captivity, advocacy to bring their loved ones home, as well as the support that we provide to get through the ordeal.
The Hostage US Annual Reception will be an opportunity for the entire hostage community to gather to discuss the issue of hostage-taking and wrongful detention and how we can continue to provide care and support for captives and their families.
